Want to trade plants?

I have a couple types of plants in my yard that just seem to grow, multiply, and have offshoots.

I would love to have a plant exchange! Plants can be an expensive investment, and this is a great way to share with our neighbors.

Here are some plants I have that I would be willing to trade.

Century Plant - it is part of the agave family. It gets really big, and doesn't require any extra love. Great if you have an area of the yard that your hose just doesn't reach. Works in sun, shade - you almost can't kill these things. (pics pulled of the net)

Canna - The variety that I have blooms yellow flowers. These come back bigger and better each year. The more you water, the bigger they grow, but will survive with little water - although they won't bloom. Low maintance, easy to grow. Happy in sun or shade, but does best in partial sun.

Wandering Jew - Low creeping foilage plant. Great in containers, or to fill in a garden bed. Awesome ground cover. Loves water, but will grow anywhere.

Wisteria - The purple blooming variety. A rapid growth vine. Very tolerate to everything. You do want to make sure that you set aside enough space for this one - and it can be invasive if you aren't careful. But the blooms and the smell in the spring ... wow.

Would love to add some new tresures to my yard - and share my treasures with you!

Savvytangerine PM me and we can meet up next week for a plant exchange!!!

Gosh, I wish this thread had been started this spring. My husband removed a huge amount of plant material from the front yard this spring. We offered it to Eastern Nursery, but the person we talked to wasn't interested. Their labor costs would have outweighed the worth of the plant material.

Now all we have left that's tradable (had to look up the spelling of this word -- an "e" after the "d" is also correct -- LOL) are a few tiny native magnolias.

Unfortunately, in his zeal to get rid of all of those damned vines that won't die unless you pour straight RoundUp on them (sorry -- so anti-green  ), he killed all of the native rosemary and some other blooming native plant whose name escapes me.:(

I'd be interested in some canna ... *if* I can talk my hubby into doing the "labor" (digging) on Labor Day weekend.

wish i was there to trade with ya'll....grayt idea alright  I have some purple Texas petunias and red and yellow cannas too.

I assume you are out of town? Contact me when you come back - I would love to have some petunias and red cannas!

Let me know if you can talk him into it! Would love to trade!

The cannas I have are mixed red and yellow on the same flower with green leaves. Would love some of those red leafed ones.

I once traded a bag of moist, green, leafy material for cash.
