Help with Veggie food in So Wal area...

I will be staying for 4 nights in the WaterSound area...below Seaside. I would like to find some modest dinner restaurants where I can find veggie food that is NOT shellfish or seafood. Help! Thanks!

Veggie, as in vegan? Well, in my experience there are lots of restaurants that can accommodate a lacto-ovo vegetarian, but of course many fewer that are prepared to accommodate a vegan.

In terms of breakfast, Hibisicus is a great place. They offer smoothies and waffles, amongst other breakfast eats. They serve waffles that are specifically vegan, and other items can be made so.

Every *local* pizza joint I've asked has had a meat free sauce, so there's a possibility. There's also a Thai restaurant in Grayton, north of 30A, though seating is a bit cramped if you're looking to seat a crowd - they mostly do take out. If you aren't averse to bringing food home, there's also Heart & Soul down near Butler Elementary - they have veggie options, and specifically work to have vegan options. Their food is to bring home, but it gets rave reviews from those I've talked to about it. At least one dish at the Smiling Fish Cafe can be made vegan, last time I checked.

If you have specific interests, perhaps, that might help? Just a thought. Anyway, hope this helps.

Most local restaurants have a couple vegetarian entrees or are willing to make dishes differently to meet your needs. Depending on how strict your diet is, you should be able to eat most places. I would search the dining thread by restaurant name and look at the menus many have posted to make sure.

Table Five Personal Chef Service can bring the Restaurant to your home.
I do menus based on what is in season from local farmers. I also love the challenge of creating menus for vegans and vegetarians. Contact chef Phillip for menus, pricing and info if this interests you. tablefivechef@yahoo.com or 850.496.5066

the summer kitchen in rosemary beach has a few vegetarian options... my friend chelsea (who is vegan), used to enjoy eating there.

If you contact the chefs at Stinky's Fish Camp they will be happy to cook veggie for you. They have great farm fresh veggies from EAT-Rite Produce Co. If you like you can email me www.stan@eatriteproduce.com or call 850-319-9367 and I will set it up for you.

Hey Chef Phillip - do you have a website with sample menus, by any chance? :D

Cool beans! Do you happen to know what she liked to get?
