Whoever did the beach renourishment down here at Seacrest beach deserves a huge thanks!

Here is what it looked like in December:

Here is what it looks like now:

Who says we humans can take care of ourselves! ;-)

So, how much did this cost?
Who owns this part of the beach now?
Did anyone object?

Was anything 'done'? I don't know. A decent storm erodes a ton of sand and it returns in time. If we have a category one hurricane, Seacrest will probably have all that exposed peat again.

campcreeklou, that is a great photographic example of before and after Mother Nature. Good work with the camera, and thanks for sharing!

Did ya ride the short bus? I guess ya leave your clue's at the base of the 331 before crossing it. Buy the way it cost 3,000,000 dollars have the TDC deposit it in to my account I'll take full credit for this one.:bang:

Thanks for posting CCL! I added them to the home page. I've been studying the dunes and beaches (almost every day :D ) It's remarkable to see the changes. I have a lot of "before" pics. Hopefully the ones I'm taking now aren't "after" pics, or "before" pics, but rather, "during" pics.

Greenroomsurfer that was uncalled for. :nono1:

I know the guy that used to get all the blame and nasty phone calls when storms made it look like your first picture; something tells me he WON'T be getting the credit for the second.

I was just at the same beach, CampCreekLou, a few weeks ago. I, too, was absolutely amazed at how wonderful the beach looked and had the same thought. Did Mother Nature do this or was the sand replenished by humans? It looked like at least two feet of fluffy white sand was put back on the beach (and there was a little ridge/dip between the two feet of sand and the shoreline which was interesting to me). I also noticed that the dunes are starting to look good again. Right at that spot where you took the picture, there are some houses that created seawalls with new sand and planted new sea oats, whereas others left their "dunes" as Mother Nature left them a few years ago after the storms. Frankly, both look nice to me (the ones that Mother Nature is rebuilding are more cliffy) and both are getting nice green growth on them.

I also saw some beach tents that were tagged by local officials with a warning that they would be taken away if they weren't taken down at the end of the day.

 Mother Nature and the people who help take care of the beaches.
