No. I don't live on this planet, but we get really great internet service on Saturn, which is one planet closer to the sun than the one I think you're from.
Yes, I'm spoiled compared to much of the world. I've never hurt for food or shelter, healthcare, or the opportunity to get a basic education. All of these things come standard for most Americans. Do you have a point?
I give up. How many are outsourced? This seems to be the new bee in your bonnet, so please tell the group exactly how many are outsourced and what you specifically plan to do about it.
But tell it to the others. I've had enough crazy for one night.
Your'e kidding, right? Ever called for Dell or HP service?

"I cite the usual statistics: 1 in 10 US technology jobs will go overseas by the end of 2004, according to the research firm Gartner. In the next 15 years, more than 3 million US white-collar jobs, representing $136 billion in wages, will depart to places like India, with the IT industry leading the migration, according to Forrester Research. I relate stories of American programmers collecting unemployment, declaring bankruptcy, even contemplating suicide - because they can't compete with people willing to work for one-sixth of their wages."

"outsourcing, which is expected to move 3.4 million U.S. service-sector jobs overseas by 2015, according to the consultancy Forrester. Most of the work comes to India, where young, low-cost employees now handle a range of American tasks -- they draw cartoons, interpret heart scans, adjudicate insurance claims, reserve flights and chase debtors."
That's just a few. They are happy to make the money at far less than we would make. Probably because they are able to live with that money. Here is another story. Cost of housing, food, and fuel are 3 big problems that just mean the value of our dollar is practically worthless. Until business steps up to the plate and adjusts these problems by actually caring about their own neighbors, ie family, things will probably get worse before they get better.
I know many that have "hurt for food" or a place to sleep, much less healthcare! Standard for most Americans? Really? Have you actually checked that info? From what I see locally, many are being pushed into homeless situations particularly with the mortgage meltdown/recession. Things need to change and soon. For some, if they get arrested, at least they get a place to sleep, food, and healthcare! Maybe you should get out more! Call labor finders, most of them are homeless! Everything they own is in a bag they carry around! Next time you go to the gas station, ask them where they live, and who they support at home! That is if they speak English! How many of our local people have elderly family members living on Social Security alone, and children they are trying to take care of!
