Beach Comber
Hi Everyone!
I'm so excited about my family coming to Seacreast in August for vacation (6 adults and 7 children)! This will be our first visit to this part of Florida. I'll admit I was a little nervous about renting a house in such a close, small community, but I've been reading these posts for a while now and SOWAL seems to be filled with amazing and friendly people that actually welcome all of us sandy & sunburned tourists!

I've read a lot of great information on these forums about restaurants and the beaches in the area, but still feel a little lost about the area of Seacreast. I know there are lighted fountains, bike trails, pavilions with live bands, and many other things to do, but I can't find a map or postings that can tell me exactly where these things are located. For instance, if we decide to ride bikes, which way should we go? Where are the trails located? I know I'm probably over thinking this, but I'm nervous because I'm the one that planned the trip...... I just want to make sure everyone enjoys themselves. Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time......

Here's the local Tourist Development Council's site that should be able to give you some of the general information you are looking for.

Enjoy your visit! :welcome:

:welcome: I am a Seacrest owner and while I don't do much biking right now, I can tell you there is a biking trail that follows all of 30-A. You can't possibly get lost! Also I'm sure there are other trails too -- someone else might have some good ideas. But I wanted to let you know that whereever you are, you will easily be able to get on a trail!

If you are staying in the area with the 12,000 square foot pool, there is a lighted fountain with music (fun for the kids) right on 30-A, between Rosemary Beach and the Seacrest development. You can't miss it.

Also in our neighborhood, there is a grassy amphitheater area by the pool that will have concerts during most weekends in the summer. If you are going to the pool you can't miss it.

SoWal is small; you will be able to find your way around very easily. For groceries, hit the Publix on 98 about 2 miles east of the turnoff onto 30-A. Have fun!

Welcome. :welcome: Hope you have a great time. You'll want to visit and shop all along 30A. This forum has an entertainment section you can check out. Also, our local weekly newspaper the Walton Sun is helpful. (It is Free)

:welcome: momof3! You will find 30A really easy and fun to explore. (Lots of options and you can get to everything fairly easily.) Have a wonderful trip!

TFT is correct on the concerts for seacrest Beach. Go to www.seacrestbeach30A.com , click on the calendar and it should let you know what is going on with the days you will be here.

Seacrest also has a nice walking path that goes between Rosemary Beach and Seacrest all the way back to the water tower.

HAVE FUN!!
