Hump back Whales

New posts

That's awesome! 18 babies this winter off the coast of Ga.
Who knows, maybe we'll get lucky again and see a pair this September feeding in the Bank. We were told that the Right whale would probably be extinct in our lifetime, and that we would never see a mother and calf again either. This is hopeful. Thanks, that made my night.

BTW, you can tell a humpback from a right whale by the blow. The humpback's is like a V, and the right whale's is straight up. So, if anyone spots a whale blow from afar, that's how you can tell the difference.

Oh my gosh! I just went back and looked at this vid again, Mangy. You were so darling to do it for me! I LOVE whales! I soooo think I need to take another whale watching trip "somewhere".

Did anyone see the whales passing?

Kelly Carr was in his kayak fishing and saw :yikes: two large whales go by near the second sand bar off Grayton Beach. Did anyone else spot them....I was hoping someone had pictures to share. The water was crystal clear he said and he saw quite a few nice sized fish and caught 5.

I heard there was a group of locals at Grayton Beach with a projector Saturday night and big screen showing Jaws! :shark: I missed that too!

And, oh yeah....I was in Tom Thumb and ran into a life guard who was burnt up and the cashier was getting on to him about not using sun screen and he said, "Believe me, that was the last thing I was thinking about as I was pulling all those people out of the water today!" He looked so tired!

See attached pics that were forwarded to me showing the whales off Destin.

...........And yes, the boats are too close to the animals.
