Publix brand yogurt has increased in price 25% during the last week. They just don't tell you. Last week, the container size was 8oz, and this week, it was reduced to 25% less, at 6 oz, though the price per container stayed the same. Usually, the food companies reduce the quantity only a little bit, or they will completely make-over the packaging. This 6 oz container felt like a baby-sized portion. I noticed it immediately. More profit for Publix for a while, until the price catches up to the container size.

SWGB, I'm flattered that you're quoting me!:clap::clap:

As of noon today, I'M OFF UNTIL AUGUST 7TH!!!!! I'm not a teacher, not a student, not a camp instructor, not a gardener, not an accompanist or musical director (except for one little wedding next weekend)--I am nothing! YIPPEEEEEEE!!!!
I totally understand. Have a great few days off!

What I don't get at Publix is why the small box of Publix garbage bags is less expensive per bag than the large box. And my manicurist and I were talking about saving money on food and buying large packages of chicken. We both hate handling raw chicken, but we are willing to do so to save money. After my manicure, I stopped by Publix, and they had a manager's special on large packs of chicken breasts. The packages said 20% off, and the price tag said $4.29 per pound. Yet the smaller packs that I normally buy said $3.99 per pound. A meat department employee just happened to be nearby. I asked him if the sticker price on the big packs included the 20% off. He said yes. I said that it didn't make sense that the large packs cost more per pound than the small ones. He said that it was a manager's special. I said, "A manager's special to charge more money?" Does not make sense to me.:bang:
