What does Palin have to hide?

New posts
Is this the trooper that TAZED his step-child? Inquiring minds want to know.

Here is the story, as recounted on the Mudflats blog, quoting an Alaskan official's explanation of what happened. I'll see if I can find other references that tell the whole story:

When you hear about someone tasering an 11-year old, or even ?allegedly? tasering an 11-year old, it?s pretty hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. That?s why I was glad that the head of the Public Safety Employees Association, John Cyr, was interviewed two days ago on KUDO radio, and explained the seemingly unforgivable tasering event.

First, the incident happened when the boy asked to see what it felt like, and prove to his friends that he wasn?t a ?Mama?s Boy?. Wooten agreed to do it. According to Cyr, Wooten was a taser instructor, and used a training cartridge on the lightest setting and used alligator clips on the boys shirt, rather than the usual skin contacts. The burst was less than one second. Wooten?s wife was in the room at the time, and the entire family knew of the incident. It became an issue ONLY when divorce papers were filed. Wooten acknowledged bad judgment and was disciplined.

When I think of Governors running for high office tip-toeing around past shenanigans involving State Troopers, I think the Democrats actually set the precedent.

True. :funn: I meant in this particular case.

The state's Legislative Council (8 GOP, 4 Dems) are the ones who voted to launch an ethics investigation of Palin.

Well I don't see what the big problem is. I mean, aren't powerful women (in particular certain first ladies) supposed to be able to terminate civil servants on a whim? :idontno:

Oh come on now. The boy was 11 years old. If that had happened in Florida and Crist had done nothing, people would be calling for his head. Tasers kill people. An instructor should know that. Bad judgment? He should have been fired. Oh that's right. Someone did stand up and take care of that.

bobskunk, the witch trials and our potential VP are worlds apart(in some respects, but with Palin's Christianity on her sleeve, everything comes from a divine source), but instead of deflecting, or trying to hide from this issue, I feel she should face it head on and get it out of the way. This way, if she's vindicated, can say 'I told you so, you silly democrats, let's move on'

If she's not vindicated, the dems will just have more reason to show the sheeplike republicans that following the party to the gates of hell just because John McCain is a decorated vet with a hot running mate, may be the wrong idea.

Look at all the chatter here regarding this topic. I'm pretty sure it's not isolated to this BB.

here's a little more, because i like wildlife free to roam in our largest state:

I see a cauldron.

Look out- I have a feeling I know how he will be having fun today. I better warn Rapunzel.

I'll call her.

(Ring Ring) "Hello"

(me) "Hey Punz, you might want to monitor your husband's SoWalling today. He is feeling a little frisky."

(Punzy) "Well, he needs something to do since the new neighborhood isn't as good for spying on the neighbors. He can't be Gladys Kravitz here and he is bored you know."
