need office job

I need some kind of office job. I'll consider any offers of interesting work.

I'm a former president of a Washington-area communications research company with four college degrees, in math, engineering and health. I've also completed 3.5 years of a BFA (fine arts).

I really good with computers, Windows, Linux, Macs and PCs. I've written software and websites, built computers from scratch and wired networks for small and large companies. I'm a published writer of short stories, and a decent graphic designer.

I'm quite skilled at verbal and written communications.

Is there any place in South Walton Co. or Destin that could use a boost to their office, marketing or IT staff?

PM me with any ideas or offers.

Thanks,

Ron

I haven't received any response from this post.

Maybe I should have pointed out that I'm not fussy about salary. A little money coming in is better than living on our savings.

Sacred Heart in SRB always seems to have some job postings, though I'm not sure what they'd have in the way of office work right now. It's a hard time for those kinds of jobs right now because so many of them were tied into the real estate market and, well, you know.

Don't suppose you've got an active security clearance? That opens up the door to a lot of defense contracting jobs in the area.

Hi Ron,

I actually have the employment post previous to yours under employment. Tough lately isn't it? I diligently check job postings on several websites. What would you suggest a "position" title would be that you are looking for? I will look out for you as well.

I'm not looking for anything in particular. I find that whatever a group of people is doing, I'm able to jump in as a team player and make the project happen. I've got lots of experience in many areas. Running a small company for 12 years makes you wear lots of different hats.

My wife and I have been monitoring several websites, including Sacred Heart and Silver Sands, but the jobs seem ill-fitted for me.

I've even applied for some retail jobs. It's not the jobs are beneath me, people don't seem to want to hire older men with lots of education and experience for jobs that a 20-year-old with little or no college could do. There's some justice to that, of course; the young people need to get their lives started. I suspect I'd hire a 20-something over me if I had to make the employer's choice.

Why not try to get certified and teach. With your degrees, all you'd have to do is take the certification test. There is a shortage right now and it would seem that you have great experience.

Where is there a shortage? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't I recently read in the paper that every teaching job advertised in Walton county had something like 75 qualified applicants?
