Legislature OK's more fees

But it is not living within our means. He said we needed to live within our means, not make more money.
Come on, wrobert. You are well aware that the cost of everything is rising. Our "means" increases with inflation. I'd rather pay "fees" (read taxes) on what I buy and use instead of an increase in property tax or an income tax, heaven forbid, that many others can get out of paying through various and sundry means.

I have no problem with that. But it is not what he said. He could have just as easily said that things are going up. So we have to increase fees. Let me see what is going up.

Employee pay nope, we cut that.
Technology nope, gets cheaper all the time.
Rent Long term leases are already set, new leases are cheaper construction costs are falling.

I guess we doubled and tripled the fees to pay for health insurance increases. Or maybe we just jacked all the fees up rather than doing the hard work of trying to fix the tax system and do away with things like skybox exemptions.
