We will be in the area in a couple of weeks and prefer to do all or most of our business locally. can anyone tell me the best place to buy fresh produce? I think we'll stick with the fish market we've been using for years, but need a good produce market. We found a place last season but we can't remember where it was. :idontno:
Thanks

Vegetables and Perennials by a Girl Named Toni in Grayton (behind Sherwin Williams paint store)

Seaside Farmer's Market, Saturdays 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the amphitheater (town center) -- fresh, local, organic fruits and veggies, plants, pastured eggs, and yummy breakfast/brunch specials at Raw & Juicy (in the Airstream) by local chefs.

I appreciate your desire to support local businesses. Hope you have a great time here!

Hello, this is Peter from For The Health Of It, filling in for Ed &Rachel. We would love the opportunity to provide you with your Fresh produce needs. For The Health Of It is a locally owned and operated natural food store located in Blue Mountain Beach. We currently have a selection of over 70 items in my produce department. I will attach the link to this weeks list. Hope to see in in our market.

what ever happened to Carl Cotton?

If I recall correctly, the county, when revising the 331/98 Scenic Corridor guidelines, made roadside farmer's markets on 331 south of the bay and 98 illegal (I think it had to do with architectural and sign standards -- it was a while back, don't recall details). I tried to get an exception for them included in the new guidelines, but I couldn't get any traction with that.

Good to know--very glad Mr. Cotton was able to find a spot to keep the market going. I'll have to make a point to get up to Freeport a little more often!

It is, just south of Banktrust on the southbound side of 331.
Yes, he is. We bought tomatoes there the other day. Glad to see him back.

For the Health of It, in Blue Mtn Beach, is a great store, with some really cool owners and employees who know their products and care about their customers.
