Grayton Beach Stinks!

Beach Fanatic
I get hot under the collar about utility companies, quasi-governmental entities that quite often have monopolies and provide essential services. They seem to be able to do what they want when it comes to using our right of ways. In Walton county I've seen regional utilities make a mess of a place, leaving all kinds of stuff on the right of way to rot. Same with phone, cable, etc.

I would like to know whose bright idea it was to put a sewage lift station (giant poop pump) at the entrance to Grayton Beach. Every time I drive in or out it stinks to high heaven. I doubt the community had any warning that the entire welcome to the neighborhood was about to be ruined.

Same station/smell at E. Pt. Washington and Bay, N. 395 and 98, and in the heart of Miramar. Depending on the day- look out!

Welcome to the funn of a heavy weekend. If the red lights flashing call regional utilities or the smell gets worse.

I've called in about the one between Pandora's and the Grayton General Store twice and they didn't seem concerned.

its been there for awhile. it sucks, but its needed. the more we grow and more people move to this area the more we'll have to deal with things like this. where else could it go? they cant put it on private property. and i live in pt washington so i go through both several times a day. its just one of those things that you take up the tailpipe. it happens....
