Oh hey, didn't see you there.
I'm David Ebert, and I'm an actor and commedian for the Seaside Repertory Theatre. I've been living in SoWal since May, but I haven't taken part in SoWal.com until now because, well, I have fat fingers. It's true. It's only through a great deal of concentration and proof reading that I am able to make this entry now. But it was time.
I was finding that people wouldn't acknowledge things I had told them until it had been verified on SoWal. As if SoWal was where rumor came to become fact. Where pipe dreams of icecream socials and organized events came to become pipe realities. It was then I knew. SoWal was the only way I could prove to people that I did in fact exist.
For those of you who haven't seen me on stage in the children's shows this summer or performing with The Flaws Comedy Improv, or working behind the counter at either the Seaside or Rosemary Amavida, here's a little bit about me. I was born and raised on a horse farm outside of Buffalo New York, I went to college at SUNY Fredonia located on lake Erie where I graduated last May with a degree in Acting.
In addition to acting I write for the Flaws and am working with Katie Johnston and Kevin Boyle on writing a holiday sketch show for the Rep that will go up this December.
I'm also a graphic designer (see my work in the coming months in Rep publicity material) and a visual artist. In fact, I've got a show coming up in November at the Amavida in Rosemary. It's called DE COMPOSITION and it follows a series of paintings through an interesting and brutal journey. More on that to come.
You can catch me most days at one of the Amavida's working behind the bar. Thursday nights myself and the Flaws will be performing some improv games for free at the Amavida in Rosemary at 7pm and Friday and Saturday nights we'll take the gloves off and really get into the meaty long form improv at the Seaside Rep Theatre at 9pm. October 7th-17th I'll be in Harold Pinter's "The Homecoming" at the Rep Theatre, and if you love art and literature, you need to catch that one.
If you see me around, say hello, I've got a beard and beady little eyes. And gold shoes. Everyone should own a pair of gold shoes. I'm sometimes a little shy, or I get nervous and my words don't come out in the order I want them to "How are you, David?", "Good I am, are you being good too? Good?". It's kind of tragic to witness. But I'm looking forward to meeting many of you, and taking part in this community as much as I can for as long as I am here.
Take care,
Dave Ebert
