Please enlighten me when someone was denied a marriage license in sowal based on the fact that they were of different races?

I have serious doubt as your real intentions here, my monies on sock puppet. I can't imagine any "person of color" thinking this justice of the peace is doing anything remotely good.
 
My 2 cents... We're all agreeing on the same thing about the issue. We just happen to say things a bit differently.

People can just be really insensitive to downright mean, but they can also be incredibly kind and wonderful. Mostly, we've experienced the kind and wonderful but there have been other experiences, too.

The "are your kids adopted" line cracks me up. No, they are not, but I am.:biggrin:

I know when Mr. Clean and I went to get our marriage license (in another southern state &, no, it wasn't GA) we were given the once (and twice) over look by a number of people in the clerk's office.

We have had incidents here that were interesting, to say the least. The last memorable one happened at the beach access near our home. The "gentleman" (serious sarcasm here) tried to avoid looking at our family while we were showering off and he was headed to the beach. I thought he was going to break his neck turning the other way and trying to walk past us. Mr. Clean made him speak, but after that, he glared at me out of the corner of his eye. I was shocked at his treatment of us and felt that he considered us less than human, especially me. He was a local.

To put it bluntly, I don't give a flip what someone thinks about IR marriages, as long as they don't disrespect or try to do harm to our family. That's where the line is drawn.

Sorry Gay Boy, I was not eluding to marriages in sowal, I was if you read the other posting eluding to the simple minded day to day discrimination's that happen and JUDGEMENTS passed on by others. Thank you for the PROOF of just that by your posting what YOU THINK (JUDGEMENT) are my intentions and name calling (Sock Puppet) I never agreed what the Justice stated or done was with my stamp of approval. Simply stating to the poster I was replying to that the "SHOCK" value was different from my prospective. Besides I can not see where you would know or understand what a (Person of Color) might think or not think. Only a person of color would be able to answer that and most likely everyone that was asked would have a personal opinion of their own. I tend not to follow the "Main Stream" thinking... as you have noticed and likely to find out more as time goes on.

If I recall correctly your the one who started this thread, Being that your a white male (You picture) I would stand to question with an honest query why would you begin the thread to start with. Motive? Enjoy your weekend, You might find me down on the boardwalk this weekend doing what I enjoy.... Taking pictures..... Cans of worms are yucky as my grand daughter would say. :wave:

Judging SWGB from his photo is as inappropriate as anything you are accusing him of. You have no idea who he is or what his family is like. I knew his motive and understood where he was coming from on this subject.

This is about interracial marriages, so the opinion of "persons of color" aren't the only opinions that count.

That argument from any side gets under my skin more than anything else. You can't sit at your computer at type whatever you want to say under the idea that you are allowed to say it because of the color of your skin. That goes for anyone, no matter what their skin tone is. Being disrespectful is a human flaw.
 
Hop, said it best, "what an idiot". And truly idiots come in all sizes, shapes, forms and even colors.

But one must remember one idiot does not describe all the people from the same region, be it Louisiana or the South. To think that is well .......idiotic and stereotyping which is as bad as what this judge has done. He made a judgement that is not his to make.

Something else to consider, is when one posts on an Internet forum some people do not have the advantage of actually knowing you in person, who you really are and not your Internet persona.

So what you post to many is who you are and sadly in many cases that is not accurate but that is all they know.

Please accept my apology! I did not realize that I insulted anyone. I assumed...(We know what that means) that Mr Gay Boy was attacking my :Intentions because he questioned the PERSON of Colors perspective, and He called me a Sock Puppet... Yes I see where I went astray! Please allow this to be only viewed as a mistake on my behalf.
As for his picture... sorry on that as well. I again assumed that was him as strange as that might sound! Gosh what was I thinking! Thanks for pointing out my poor reading comprehension! :bang:
