Troll (Internet)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(Redirected from Internet Trolls)

"Do not feed the trolls" and its abbreviation DNFTT redirect here. For the Wikimedia essay, see "What is a troll?".
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]

If not, I apologize...however I think I am not the only one sensing this...

It's quite sad that you are more focused on a possible troll than on discussing an episode that reveals just how prevalent and deeply rooted racism and discrimination are in our country.

If beanstalk is a troll, ban or ignore him.

Actually, I learned through negative experiences NOT to discuss opinions that I feel strongly about in this sub forum. That is my choice and I feel comfortable with that choice. However, that doesn't stop me from feeling very protective of these forums as a whole..:idontno:

Agreed. And I also feel protective of those who do take the risk of posting their opinions and debating in here. And I'm also tired of rational discussions quickly degrading into antagonism and games of win/lose at all costs, using overtly or passively aggressive manners. We all have different ways of dealing with what we perceive as negativity in this forum, and if that includes calling someone a troll, so be it. If Douglas is wrong, the truth will soon come out, and I have no doubt he will apologize.

My questions were legitimate, in my opinion. I sensed a lot of passive aggressiveness in Beanstalk's choice of salutation, and at that particular moment, I didn't feel like ignoring it - my usual choice of (non)action.

I'll discuss my opinions about important issues when I feel safe to do so. I haven't felt safe in the political forums for too long now. I'd like that to change, so again, if it means calling out someone I believe is making it unsafe in here, I will do so when I can. And apologize if I am proven wrong.

I find this thread very interesting mostly sad to say the least, I have posted an opinion and with that came name calling and innuendos... Now I answer your questions along with others and I am called another name. This has got to be the most immature attitude I have had the a most unpleasing experience to come across. I answered your questions? Yes? I call anyone a Name? NO? I am now a THREAT to your safety? NO where did that even come from? I strongly suggest that if I have infringed on your safety in anyway in this thread or elsewhere to quickly dial 911. My name is Jack Bean, I live right here in good ole sowal when I choose to! Gesh.. What a life one must have to allow a thread and a poster to THREATEN someone even in their imagination! Good Bye and Good Ritens this was a total waste of my time here. .

Jack

This thread is pure gold. Judge show his ass, everyone agrees that judge is an ass, brown/black/light tan/whatever bean comes in and defends judge, people offer differing opinions, bean loses a couple screws along the way, dressing down anyone who has done so. He gets his motives questioned, gets his feelings hurt, takes his toys and goes home(for now). Good riddance? No way, there's too much attention available. Gold, I tell ya.

If you are Mr. R, does that make him Mr. Bean?

This made me truly embarrassed to be from Louisiana. How ignorant!:bang:

Why in the world would the actions of one idiot and possibly some of his close personal friends, make you embarrassed to be from Louisiana. :idontno:

Surely you do not believe that this person represents the entire state, everyone born there or lived there.

Just as there are idiots such as this man that live there, there are also many remarkable human beings from Louisiana including many of who now live in SoWal.
