catholic church affects our government

New posts
I have a dream too... One day we will wake up and people will use their free will to choose to serve God, like we are supposed to...pure religion isnt dis-organized, it is man who puts his doctrines in that corrupts... The gospel of Christ is as harmonious as it gets....

I have a dream. One day we will all wake up as "Rationalists" not bound by an archaic, dis- organized "religion!"

I would ask you to back up your statements but I know you have work to do.:floor:

back up my statement? sure, which one?

if you speak of church construction, im in the industry and theres more church's than anything being built. all else is fed construction. at the sametime, thats normal this time of year due to their tax exemption. not that you would have a clue, your too busy bashing religious folks and playing smearing politics.

does it bother you that i cant just sit around and google articles to prove im intelligent? do you want me to write you an entitlement check?

No. He is actually much smarter and a better wordsmither than I am--he was awesome last night!

oh yea, he was brilliant...:floor: there are more people watching info-mmercials than watching that loon. and when you take out the far left and college students, you only hear silence. speaks volumes and ill leave it at that.

“And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up: Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions.”

The Catholic church played a part, but Mr. Stupak and the other 39 pro life Dems stuck with their morals and values. Blame the Vatican all you want, but it was 40 Democrats that would have killed the bill had the language not been changed to bar federal $ from subsidizing abortion.

Thank you, but no need to write me a check. I wouldn't want to take any of your money from the contracts you claim you have with the Federal Government you so dispise.

Let me remind the knee jerk Catholic haters out there that without church lobbying you might not have a passed house bill right now. It sounds to me like the Catholic effort is consistent with President Obama's. "I laid out a very simple principle, which is this is a health care bill, not an abortion bill," Obama said. "And we're not looking to change what is the principle that has been in place for a very long time, which is federal dollars are not used to subsidize abortions,". Do you really want to let a squabble between the far left and far right sink the entire effort? If so, stay tuned because from what I see on the news it is coming down the pike in the Senate.

There are no Catholic haters, it's just we want religion to stay out of government and government to stay out of religion whether the results are good or bad.

all you lefties enjoying yourself bashing religion? get it out of your system?

PATHETIC!

time to remove tax exemption status? do you have a clue the advantages of this? fact is the commercial construction industry as we speak would have fallen like residential if it wasnt for that exemption. but your right, ACORN deserves it-please. talk about blinded by the light

dis-organized religion? did olby teach you that one?

im no church-goer, but i know that churches and those who frequent them do more for the poor and oppressed than any liberal could ever.

if you dont agree with them you want to shut them down. thats right out of the liberal handbook....

Science flies men to the moon, religion flies them into buildings.

I know it's a political hot potato, but why are they putting restrictions on medical care already?

I'm not Catholic, and I might need that procedure to save my life someday........ let's say when I'm married and really want that baby, but it ISN'T POSSIBLE. Not because I'm some breezy kneed ho like they want to make out. Sucks to be me trying to get medical care to save my life.

Per news reports, the House bill with the Stupak amendment still allows for exemptions in the case of risk to mother's life, incest and rape.

I can't decide if I love this, or hate it. People have done some great things because of their faith, but so many pervert religion for their own ends and gains.

I guess I am okay with it then - hate legislating medical care, but I know it's a hot button issue.

This is the type of post we can do without - blanket generalizations and name calling is unnecessary and simply illustrates your own shortcomings to the intelligent and thoughtful members of our community.

This is the last of several polite requests and warnings.
