Health care for veterans Unacceptable

New posts
Poppy,
Thank you for hitting the nail on the head. There have been mixed reviews regarding the care and environment of VA hospitals.
There are VA hospitals available in many areas across the United States and other countries. In our area Panama City Naval, Eglin AFB, and the big one Biloxi for major surgeries.
They are far more advanced with computer information updating medical history for each patient in "all" VA hospitals.
You are eligible for VA benifits if you have served in all branches of service during war time or combat for at least 18 months.
Yes you do fill out a means test (income sheet) but if you make less than 28,429 w/ no dependents and have 0 assets you do not pay anything. If you are over that amount you have a copay of $15 visit.
$50 for any MRI, CAT, Radiology etc., $1,024 for any surgery on a 365 day period.

I'm tired of hearing negitive gossip of the VA, if you are FORTUNATE to be in the system as a Veteran your are automatically contacted reminding you of your yearly checkups.

VA information for those who meet the requirments as follows:

Panama City Branch
1-888-231-5047 toll free
850-636-7000

Have your DD form 214 on hand.
Best Wishes!

I, and my son who still uses the VA as his primary healthcare provider, have nothing but praise for the care we have received from the VA. BTW, thanks for this info, Poppy.

Thank you for your service. You and your sons continuing healthcare is the very least a gratetful nation should provide the two of you for your sacrifice.
