People can make fun of her all they want, but I feel at this point she has a very good chance of being the Repblican Presidential nominee in 2012. She is not my teabagging cup of tea, but I think there is a lot more to come from this lady...Romney, Huckabee and Polenti--watch out!

The only way that will happen is a result of a complete civil war in the party. AND....result in the ole saying......4 more years, 4 more years....for those nasty ole' Dems:cool:

And the local Liberals continue their unabated, unsubstantiated knocking of the former Governor of Alaska. You know, the one who left the largest state in the union with a budget surplus. If only the federal government could do the same.

That surplus had little to do with her and much to do with oil and a good economy. She quit before we could see if she could still govern when money wasn't pouring in.

Also worth noting that everyone who lives in Alaska for a year gets over a thousand dollars a year from oil dividends. Native alaskans can earn tens of thousands a year from funds and also get free health care. A large amount also pays for scholarships and charities.

That provides a social safety net that eliminates many of the problems other governors (or presidents) have to deal with.

I do think Palin was initially an effective governor of Alaska (a very unique place), but once she got a taste of power and national celebrity things went downhill fast.................not helped by national media attention revealing some of her less than stellar staff and budget decisions.

She does not have the basic knowledge, critical thinking, or people skills necessary to be President.

The latest polls say something like 26-28% of the American public thinks Sarah Palin is qualified to be president. Hucakbee and Romney are polling in the high 40s on the question; Hillary Clinton gets respect from 67% of people polled in that regard.

Given a choice between right wing whackloon populists, I'm in the group that would vastly prefer Huckabee. I disagree on about 90% of his policy positions, but he's got an interest in actually working hard at the job and trying to do the right thing for all his constituents.

She did a lot of good for the state of Alaska. She quit. What more could they ask for?

yes, she did leave. you want leaders who know when to leave.

I'd rather have leaders who have the grit and drive to stay and fix the problem - rather than running at the first sign of adversity.

It's not just the locals, it's the enitre democrat party. They are rabid!

?I love meat," she writes. "I eat pork chops, thick bacon burgers, and the seared fatty edges of a medium-well-done steak. But I especially love moose and caribou. I always remind people from outside our state that there's plenty of room for all Alaska's animals -- right next to the mashed potatoes.?

Classic quote. I might actually pick a copy up.
