Maybe you're right. Palin and Johnston are just capitalizing on opportunity and they are telling stories that people are willing to buy. That's what America is all about. Palin a forty something quitter and Johnston a 19 yo nobody low-life loser. Who could begrudge them for making the most of their situation crying to the bank in the process? As if either one of them care what you or I think. Well actually Palin does care because she has major aspirations, she wants to be president. With Levi, its like if you ain't got nothing, you've got nothing to lose.

Playgirl is actually using Levi to RELAUNCH its dead-tree edition, and David Gergen estimates Palin will ultimately stand to earn $10 million between book sales and speaking fees. And Bristol is at home on the compound, covered in spitup. I would be so incredibly angry. I hope that she is getting some payola - she deserves it. It likely has strings attached.

I totally disagree. I think many die hard "liberals" on this board would know how to handle a successful conservative - educated - woman. In fact I'd bet the farm that if this were say Kaye Bailey Hutchison the dialog would be totally different - don't you think?

It has NOTHING to do with left or right but EVERYTHING to do with the fact that she is not qualified to run for office and don't think for one second that running in 2012 is not her goal here. She is a deer shootin' beer drinkin' kinda gal. That's who she is. She is not well read, not educated about history or current events and not qualified to run.

That's how I see it anyway for what its worth.

Bristol is at least partially responsible for the situation she is in, it's just that the way things have unfolded have made things more difficult than they need be. I'm beginning to agree that it was irresponsible for Sarah to accept VP selection. I was always on the fence about that, until now. Republicans should be upset too, if not for Palin, McCain might be president.
