It really is a shame you will be deciding your vote on the grounds you dislike someone who calls out a representative who makes up his mind on which way his party's wind blows and ignores the obvious wishes of the majority of his constituents. OK, now all of you professed conservatives AND tea party fans. Since you like to call your congressman, why don't you do so NOW, AND insist that they go public via the news outlets as a group to condemn this kind of crap. They need to make it very clear to their outraged clansmen that this violent behavior and name calling needs to stop NOW! They also need to condemn the antics of the Lush Bimbaughs who love to stir the crap with these idiots.

There are loons in any civil protest so may I suggest you go back to the 60's and note where some of the nuts bombing the Pentagon and other government buildings are now and then you can tell me how flawed my perception of our government's actions are. Then, I suggest you re-evaluate your position on civil protest.

I would be saying the same thing to the Democrats if the situation was reversed. I applaud you for contacting your representatives.

Funny thing is, I haven't seen any media outlet (including faux news) that has had ALL of the leadership of the GOP in front of mics together condemning this. But I sure did see a bunch of them on balconies acting as sissy cheerleaders....

Guess they weren't listening to their constituent's request....

Its Fox News, not faux news no matter what you say. And obviously you don't watch it much or you would have seen Rep. Boener as well as other Republicans decrying the violence and calling for all to protesters to do so peacefully. I didn't see the Democrat leaders doing that during the '60's. Oh wait, I was off fighting a war that Democrat Presidents escalated and then decided not to win. Maybe that's why I didn't witness such a call for peaceful assembly.

I couldn't honestly answer whether the leadership back then condemned the violence or not....but then again, per your own statement neither can you, but you still express your statements that they didn't....sounds like a faux news accurate sound bite.....

I don't remember Tip O'Neill on the balcony egging the anti-war protesters on.........or any major news organization, either. I don't remember any organized protest which asked publicly, on major media outlets, for everyone to bring their bombs to a protest "as close to the White House as they will let us", like the "Bring your gun to Washington" protest.

Maybe it's the internets, just publicizing these people, giving them a public forum.

I do remember major news organizations filming civil rights protesters being beaten and showing that to the rest of the country. That was a different time, though, and that was extremely controversial. There were plenty of people who thought it was "staged"; I think we forget how divided we have always been, maybe because we didn't have opinion pieces being published every 10 seconds.

It would behove you to read and digest what I post or keep your mouth shut! It also might benefit you to realize I wasn't answering any query from you but from someone else although I realize we all do that but it would help if you read the post I was answering.
FYI, regarding civil rights. I knew what civil rights were before you were born and grew up in totally integrated schools. Please do me the courtesy of understanding that you are not the only one on the board with vast knowledge and experience. Though I know mine is real, I am not sure about yours.
As to the war mongering. There is no one on the board who hates war more than I do but when you are asked to participate and you have chosen a career field that deals in it, you have little choice. Either participate or get out. I chose the former. More importantly, when you have lost 14 of your comrades in less than two months, you come and tell me what it is you are. War monger does not ring true under those circumstances.
There are violent senseless episodes in every heated dispute. Many of us do not like the direction our country is heading. Most of us will peacefully protest that direction. A few loons and fatheads will not. They are obviously on both sides of the political spectrum. One last thing. Its not teabaggers, its tea party movement participants, most who have jobs, are retired or are just plain interested in seeing their children and grandchildren not saddled with a debt for which they are not responsible. You're a smart guy, SWGB, start showing it instead of showing off.
