Rabble rousing Repubs...

New posts
There is a basic standard for acceptable behavior from adults, from our leaders, and from our elected officials.

No exceptions, no "but so-and-so did this", no left/right, no Republican/Democrat.

EVERYONE needs to take a good hard look at their behavior, rhetoric, and the behavior and rhetoric of those they choose to align themselves with politically.

Unless you are actively condemning this idiotic behavior AND doing things to change it, you ARE condoning it.

Has anyone involved in leadership for the Republicans spoken out concerning the grossly inappropriate behavior of the repub base???? There have been incidents of death threats, ugly, ugly name calling and spitting on legislators voting for health care. This is an ugly ugly face of the party. Is this truly how Repblicans want their party to be represented to the public??? When you work so hard at rousing the rabble, you become responsible for their actions. You do know who you are dealing with here, don't you????

Hot Air ? Blog Archive ? Caught on film: Congressman “spat on” by tea partier, sort of

Scratch two supposed racial incidents, it's been confirmed the spitting incident and the name calling incident didn't happen. There's also a reward out for video or audio of other name calling incidents, thus far no one has stepped forward with proof. In all likelihood, none of this actually happened, people just misinterpreting things. Which considering the heated debate, is not surprising.

This begs a similar question though - has anyone involved in the leadership for the Democrats spoken out against blowing these unsubstantiated events out of proportion? I'm guessing not, in which case, the real damage is being done by the other side of the isle through the perpetuation of these rumors.

That's it? Because a racial slur wasn't recorded it didn't happen? And WTF is he wiping off his face? It could have been an accident but his reaction looks like it was more than a minute amount but hey, I wasn't there so I guess it didn't happen.

The messages left at Stupak's office are no joke. Forget the teabaggers, what about a member of congress yelling "baby killer" during official proceedings? Doesn't that incite violence, especially in the wake of Dr. Tiller's murder (gunned down by a nutter in church). Both the left and the right should run, not walk, from their fringe loonies. The lack of civility is a disgrace.

I agree, the messages left by pro-reform and anti-reform voters were inappropriate. But I don't think they represent different political groups in general.

Haven't heard about that one. Will have to do some digging. Just out of curiosity, when you used the phrase "tea bagger", was it intended as a disparaging remark?

True dat.

He came forward a few days ago.

Republican Rep. Randy Neugebauer of Texas says he is the House member who shouted "baby killer" on the floor as abortion was being discussed during a tense moment in the health care debate, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Texas congressman says he was the one who shouted 'baby killer' -

As to the term teabagger, not meant disparaging at all. They named their own movement. It's hardly my fault, though probably a bit juvenile, I admit, that they were unaware of the unintended hilarity of ball jokes.
