West Bay, FL (May 3, 2010) – The Panama City – Bay County Airport and Industrial District Authority (Airport Authority) has set the parking rates for the public short-term and long-term parking lots at the new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.
If you are parking in the short-term lot, the first 10 minutes are free. From 11 minutes to 20 minutes the rate is $1. After 20 minutes, the cost is $1 for each additional 20 minutes, with a maximum daily rate of $11. For those parking in the long-term lot, the cost structure is the same as the short-term lot, but the maximum daily rate drops to $9. Cash and all major credit cards are accepted.
The secure parking lots, which will be managed by Republic Parking, are located in front of the passenger terminal building and within easy walking distance to the ticketing counters.
The new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is scheduled to open May 23, 2010.
The airport is located on State Highway 388 roughly equidistance between State Road 79 to the west and State Road 77 to the east.
Here are directions:
From Panama City, take State Road 77 north through Lynn Haven and Southport. Turn left onto State Highway 388. Proceed for approximately 8 miles. Airport entrance is on the right.
From Panama City Beach, take State Road 79 north toward West Bay. Turn right onto State Highway 388. Proceed for approximately 4 miles. Airport entrance is on the left.
Driving west on I-10 from Tallahassee, take State Road 77 south to State Highway 388. Turn right and proceed approximately 8 miles. Airport entrance is on the right.
Driving east on I-10 from Pensacola, take State Road 79 south to State Highway 388. Turn left and proceed approximately 4 miles. Airport entrance is on the left.
Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport will be the first new international commercial-service airport built in the U.S. in the last 15 years. The new airport, featuring a 10,000-foot main runway, is replacing Panama City – Bay County International Airport, which was built in 1948. The new airport is being built on a 4,000-acre greenfield site with ample room to grow to meet greater demand for the next 50 years.

$11 is for short term. $9 a day for long term.

I had heard that the new airport was charging smaller taxi companies a fee per trip to airport - I think it was around $20 but don't quote me on that. The company that I talked to was going to pass on this fee to the customer. Maybe this is why some companies fares are higher than others.

If that is true about them charging $20 per trip on the taxi, I guess they want people to fly into ECP, but not go anywhere. That sounds high. Do you remember where you read that? I don't recall reading that blurb and I read all of the updates.

I did not read that - my taxi driver in April was telling me about it. I'm not sure about the amount but it wasn't a nominal fee and the fee was charged only to the smaller companies. He said he was going to start giving his customers detailed information about it so they could complain to the airport.

Complain for $20 add on fee, rediculous

Hell, it'll be cheaper to go to the rental agency, rent a car, bring it home, put my bike and bike rack on it and return it to the airport same day. Then when leaving, peddle to the rental agency, rent another car and return it to the airport when I leave on my flight home. It's only 7 miles one way to the airport from our house, if even that far.
