So virulent is the Islamophobic hysteria of the neocon and Fox News right ? abetted by the useful idiocy of the Anti-Defamation League, Harry Reid and other cowed Democrats ? that it has also rendered Gen. David Petraeus?s last-ditch counterinsurgency strategy for fighting the war inoperative. How do you win Muslim hearts and minds in Kandahar when you are calling Muslims every filthy name in the book in New York?

Here's a perfect example of some of the bullsheet that the media feeds us. Does anyone really believe that Petraeous's strategy (COIN) in Afghanistan is not working because of opposition to a mosque in New York City? that the Taliban and Al Queda have satellite dishes in the foothills tuned into FOX news all day; certainly because the Fox news female reporters are modest enough to cover their hooha's.

Does anyone know who is the second largest shareholder of Fox News and has a very cozy relationship with Murdoch??

How ironic is it that the FOX News where Sean Hannity has been howling about Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf wanting ?Sharia law? to replace our existing laws is the very same FOX News whose parent company, the Rupert Murdoch controlled News Corporation, has as its second largest shareholder Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal?
Prince Alwaleed?s uncle, King Abdullah, actually rules Saudi Arabia under Sharia law. Prince Alwaleed, who is reported to enjoy a close personal relationship with Murdoch, has become so enamored of Murdoch?s media success that he is starting his own 24 hour news station, a venture dubbed the ?Arabic FOX News? by Raw Story.

here are many reasons for supporting the Muslim community's right to build a cultural center and mosque on private property, not least of all the First Amendment of the Constitution guaranteeing freedom of religion. But from a national security perspective, our leaders need to understand that no one is likely to be happier with the opposition to building a mosque than Osama Bin Laden. His next video script has just written itself.
