As much as I'll take a beating, check out Wal-Mart. They've got some pretty good deals and they'll get better if you wait until next Friday.

hey thanks SWGB...I was just on Wally World site...i hate hate having to evaluate all the this and thats of electronics. and was just reading about dvd players and connections and blu ray etc.........where's the EASY BUTTON!
why will prices get better after next friday?
 
Know you probably cant' wait, but industry predicts a 20-30% drop in prices in the next quarter. There is an "oversupply" of flat panels flooding the market!

Mainly because next Friday is black Friday, but if you can wait until after Christmas you'll be able to pick them up for even cheaper. Me and hubby are waiting until after Christmas to buy our new TV.

Actually the PCB Wal-Mart is surprisingly quiet on black Friday. The Callaway Wal-Mart and Defuniak Springs are a whole different story.

Plasmas put off an insane amount of heat. They look better but my electric bill went up $25/month. LCD or LED might be a better option if you're looking at another 27 years.
