Unemployment hits 9.8%

New posts
I don't think anyone is trying to rewrite history. Listen, unemployment - 9.8%. That's not a rewrite, that's fact. When the President and current congress took control two years ago, they stated their policies would keep unemployment below 8%. It hasn?t worked out as well as they anticipated. The stimulus is spent and done, and unemployment continues to rise. This is not a rewrite, it?s fact. I would hope politicians recognize this and recognize that if we can?t learn from our mistakes, we?re not going to make any progress.

They were also dumb enough to believe that they could work with the opposition across the aisle. That was another mistake of theirs.

Please cite examples of Obama, Pelosi, Reid & co trying to work across the aisle. Because what I remember is "we won" and such.

Besides, exactly how is any of what happened the Republicans fault? The Democrats had huge majorities in the House, had the executive branch and a filibuster proof majority in the Senate for the 1st year and a 59-41 majority the 2nd year. They pretty much could do what the wanted and did not need the Republicans.
I would say their mistake was overreaching and not paying attention to what the people were saying.

Take your pick:

The republicans acted like 4 year olds and went into a response of no to everything that was proposed, not a more reasonable approach of lets look at it and put in our 2 cents. Unfortunately during that time no one thought to propose legislation advising conservatives to continue breathing.

I asked for examples of the democrats reaching across the aisle and you provided the" party of no." The entire" party of no" line is just a smokescreen; the democrats did not need a single vote in the house and only one vote in the senate to pass a bill. So what happened is their baby.

But here is all you need to know about Obama's bipartisan attitude:

And another good article about the failure of Obama to reach across the aisle in any meaningful way:
