Anyone know any good or BAD info on these areas? I am looking at condos and have stayed in Sandestine before. I like the area, but remember hearing something about the place selling or bankrupcy?

Thanks in advance.

All's well here in the big SD. I think owners are glad to see Intrawest go. They did some good things here (Bayside for example) but they also pushed to over develop. As far as I know there haven't been any major clashes with the new owners.

I heard they wanted to build a massive waterpark. Heard anything?

Haven't heard that one. Most of the stuff going around has been about greening up operations (recycling, electric trams, stuff like that) and improving services like the health club, tennis, and pools. I haven't heard squat about new developments. I imagine stuff like that is on hold until the RE market improves.

Hey, swb001, may I suggest that you try the 30A corridor instead of Sandestin? The ambiance is much nicer than Sandestin or an exit off an interstate highway near Atlanta that happens to have a lake with a beach.

I have been living in Sandestin since July and love it. There are plenty of condos to choose from depending on the lifestyle you are seeking... beach, bay, or the village.

Have heard nothing about a water park, and I am close to several people who are involved with the resort. Lets put that rumor to rest. The resort has shut down Finz for two weeks to update the deck.

Palms of Destin is a very nice building in an odd location- shoved in between Walmart and a couple chain restaurants and you have to cross US 98 to get to the beach.

Yes, this one has cuaght my eye due to the appearance and some apparently good value sales. Looks like they offer a shuttle to the beach, which would be a hassle, but it appears most properties that are below 200K are away from the beach somewhat.
