New Mexico Governor

Political party not mentioned. Part of the lack of buzz is that the even years have so many elections that a lot of interesting races don't get much national attention. (Newsies seemed to have decided that Rubio was the designated Hispanic Republican to follow this time) Odd year/off cycle doesn't have the competition for tv time, top of the web page, or top of the fold paper space, and I suspect she would have gotten more press for a 2009 or 2011 win.

GOP was mentioned in second paragraph.

This is the very first Fox news story that omitted total falsehoods?...Ok, seriously, she really is the first Latin- "a" Governor as opposed to Latin- "o" Governor...hey, I give up..she is also gay? Heck, I give up poppy!!

First Latina Governor's Historic Inauguration Gets Little National News Coverage - FoxNews.com

First one to spot the omission from this headline and story wins a prize.

Her name? Her state? The fact that FOX was the one who dropped the ball? :idontno:

CNN reports it, Fox News doesn't, but liberal media bias is why she (and other Republican Hispanics) don't get attention?

I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that the candidate herself doesn't want the focus to be on her race or gender. :sarc:

You're on track. Fox mentions she is the first latina Governor which is technically true but a bit disingenuous when there is no mention whatsoever of the first Latino Governor of New Mexico. I don't think any huge barriers have been broken here.

I also love this quote-
Several mainstream news outlets like the Washington Post and Chicago Tribune -- even FoxNews.com -- neglected to mention her Hispanic heritage
