Thank y'all for responding.

I have visited Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons...are you planning a trip?

We are planning a trip... well, trying to plan a trip. Do you have any suggestions?

I know June can be chilly and still snowy so if we do Yellowstone, August will likely be the month. Any thoughts / suggestion?

Of course I'll have the "LittleOtters" with me (13 & 15 now ). We do lots of hiking. I would like to take them white water rafting, maybe some horse back riding (no experience there). Mtn Biking, paddling, and any other suggestion. GB does not want to camp and really I don't either so lodging is a huge need for us? Not even sure where to begin. Also, I'm thinking 3 - 4 days then move on to Utah or something like that.

RO, I think it's wonderful you take such great trips with your family. You're making memories they'll treasure forever.

Do it! That chasm is a sight to behold, and as with all of nature's wonders, photos can't do justice to the sheer enormity of it. I went on a family trip to Yellowstone at age 13. I'm now 49, and it remains one of my fondest memories. We had a camper at the time, so stayed in one of the park's camping areas. My sister and I were out for a walk on our first afternoon there, when a shuttle came by and asked if we wanted a ride. It was the "sunset shuttle" and WOW!, that sunset was really something for two girls from swampy New Orleans to witness. Another fun (because he was ultimately fine in minutes) memory from that trip was Dad lying on a bench getting oxygen outside a building way up one of the Grand Tetons, because he insisted on going outside to collect enough snow for a snowball. Smoking + swamp living = altitude sickness.

Have fun!
