Kayak stolen from Cassine Gardens

On Saturday, April 2nd, a school bus yellow Hobie Mirage Outfitter, two person kayak was stolen from my front yard in Cassine Gardens. Two eyewitnesses place a young male and female in a dark SUV at the scene about 4:00pm. The perpetrators were only able to steal the hull. All the related gear such as peddle drives, seats and paddles were stored elsewhere. Besides the serial number, there are other characteristics to identify the kayak. First, there are only a few of these in the panhandle area; it is not a common kayak. The kayak has 3 large round black hatches, 2 wells where the peddles go through the hull and a flip down black rudder on the stern. It is 13ft long and 34? wide and has Hobie on both sides. The boat could be for sale, abandoned or being used, probably without the peddles since they are $500 a set. If you see a kayak that matches this description, contact the Walton County Sheriff at 850-892-8186. The case number is
11-001407.
Thank you!!!

Do you have a photo, hope you get it back.

That stinks! We had three stolen a few years back. Still p****s me off to think about it.

My canoe was stolen a year and a half ago and I am still mad about it. I hope you get yours back! My new canoe has my name etched all over it in three inch letters to help deter future theft...

Let John Farmer know. He once mentioned that if someone comes in looking for a pedal drive only that he is immediately suspicious. He also told me to LOCK YOUR KAYAK, IT WILL GET STOLLEN. I have chained ours down. Thieves suck. Kayak thieves should be shot on site!!

Amen, unfortunately based on the day of the week they may have been looking to take it with them. Thieves suck and unfortunately this time of year we all know to LOCK it up like we live in the ghetto.
