I am so happy to see that Flip-Flops is open in the off-season. I heart their Gorgonzola burger!
Yes, a Greek burger with feta, tomato, red onion, romaine, and cucumber sauce. It sounds like a Greek salad and burger combined. I need to try it. I have a thing for Greek salads after going to Australia last summer. They are very popular there for some reason.Glad to hear this! The Gorgonzola burger is my favorite too. Didn't they introduce a Greek or Mediterranean burger last season?
Thanks for the info. I had never bothered to look that up. I read that Melbourne has the fourth-largest population of Greek-born cities in the world. There is a larger percentage of Greek-born than Australian-born people in Melbourne. So that explains it.There's actually a pretty good-sized ethnic Greek population in Australia, and given that the Greeks are such a food-driven culture, no surprise to see them play a larger role in Australian cuisine.
Thanks for the rec. I'll try it soon!I think I tried the Greek back in July and it was delicious as expected (and I make a very good Greek salad according to my family, and I'll eat pretty much any burger that a place like Flip Flops puts in front of me).
