Way to go Walton County Sheriff's Deputies!

[jcpd2]

With 30 years of law enforcement, I can assure you that 80% of your personnel can't be eliminated.

sounds like the margate fla. police department should get most the the kudos'. they pinpointed where the child had went.

[Bob Wells]

Bob, I agree with you. If he has been able to cut 80% of his staff and continue to provide us service, he is doing a great job! Wonder how many other departments can make similar cuts?

Really, you think he has cut his staff by 80%? That is ridiculous!

it sounds like the sheriff is trying to cash in on any spin he can with a tough, well qualified opponent come this novemer election.

Pathetic politickers. It's my thread and I am congratulating WCSO.

The important thing is that the girl was returned home.

Amen, Kurt. The present sheriff has done a very creditable job as far as I'm concerned. That said, I will seriously consider all candidates running for the office without the unnecessary rancour displayed by some here.

[Kurt]

Yes - why not trust that people will determine the candidate who they think is best? When I see someone tearing down one candidate instead of building up theirs, it has the opposite effect on me.

our sheriff has eliminated eighty percent of the department personnel since taking office nearly four years ago. i guess he's lucky the south florida veteran law officers had the experience to break this case.

Just an FYI:
I saw Sheriff Mike a few days ago and made him aware of your comment. He laughed and told me nobody has lost their job, but he has cut a million dollars from his budget.
