FYI. I received this today..

NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOPS FOR BEACH ACTIVITIES ORDINANCE

You are hereby notified and invited to a series of Public Workshops to allow input from the public regarding the Beach Activities Ordinance.

November 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM, or soon thereafter, at the Walton County Courthouse Annex located at 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach, FL

November 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM, or soon thereafter, at the Walton County Courthouse located at 571 US Highway 90 West, DeFuniak Springs, FL.

November 15, 2012 at 4:00 PM, or soon thereafter, at the Walton County Courthouse Annex located at 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

Please be advised that two or more Walton County Commissioners may attend this meeting.

Thanks for the posting. Any idea what this is about? Is there a draft of a new ordinance out there for consideration? What exactly is a beach activities ordinance? It sounds potentially very wide ranging.

Do you know if these meetings are part of a regular review process for the whole ordinance, or are there specific changes being considered?
 
I know some issues with beach vending had been discussed during the beach season. The commissioners had said once the season was over, they would set up a workshop or workshops to deal with those and see if the requirements for vendors in the ordinance needed to be reworked. I don't know of any requirement for a regular review of the ordinance.
 
Sorry, but I don't have any details either.

Will do. I'm not really involved but am trying to help get the word out! Hopefully people we will be able to find a time and location to participate.
