Black bear in Seabreeze

New posts
In Magnolia, too!

We haven't seen it yet but the signs are all there. Trash cans drug into neighboring yards and bags of trash moved to the wooded areas between houses. Everyone needs to be careful around dawn and dusk and especially on trash pick-up day, they seem to remember the schedule better than I do!
All you can do is call the Sheriff, remember they're protected, nothing you can do except yell and scream. If they don't take off.... you should!

This is very difficult, but...if a bear sees you, do NOT run away. Best course of action is to stay perfectly still and hope that something else comes along to distract him/her. They don't normally think of humans as a "food source," but if you run, suddenly you become prey.

If I were to happen across a bear, chances are I'd just PMP and faint.
