Doggie Retirement Home for Rowdy

Hi Everyone,

We have a 15 year old deaf Australian Shepard named Rowdy. She is not very steady on her feet anymore, prefers to be mainly a yard dog (only comes in during rain and cold), and is very quiet. Rowdy is one of our original rescue dogs and had a hard beginning to her life. We are moving to Seattle and just do not think the cross country trek will be good for her. If you or anyone you know would be willing to provide a yard, some love, and not have to worry about any of her expenses please contact me. We will pay for all of her veterinary care and food if the right home presents itself.

Thank you,
Amy

My husband turned down being President of the European Division of his employer because we had two 15 yo poodles that would not survive 6 months in quarantine in London (according to the vet). We loved them too much to abandon them. We would be quite wealthy now if he had taken that position. We have no regrets. We adored Mocha and Chocolat.

I sincerely hope you find someone who can care for your pet.

Thank you Beach Runner what a wonderful story. We will take her if someone is not able to care for her. We have always taken in strays or rescue animals. We are moving with five dogs and one cat. We are looking for someone that has some love to share. At this point she prefers to be on her own away from all the rest of the dogs which is why we are even considering the possibility of leaving her here. You and your husband are amazing and your dogs were lucky to have had you in their lives!

I apologize for being rude to you. We all have circumstances in life that we have to deal with. Sometimes there is no right or wrong answer. I hope you find a home for your fur baby because the trip would be too hard for her. I'm sorry that you are having to make this decision. I shouldn't have piled on. :(
