I'm always very positive in anything I say about SoWal, I love vacationing here!
However, we were at Seagrove Beach yesterday and the water had a horrible odor we have never smelled before in the usually beautiful, clean waters...what's up with that, do any of you know? It was more of a sewage odor than fishy odor. also the beach was not very clean. :(.
We're going to try Grayton today. We were very disheartened by the strong odor, I sure hope it's better today!

Spectacular at Grayton yesterday with no odor. If you were near Eastern Lake outlet or Cassine Gardens wetlands outlet then it would likely be naturally occurring sulfur.

Thanks Kurt! We checked Grayton today & Dune Allen was very nice with NO odor!
Someone told us the odor was from the seaweed/grass washing ashore..

It was sparkling clear and emerald green at BMB as well.

I don't know about seaweed washing ashore. In the beach cams everything looks pretty clear. I noticed on Weather Underground that the wind was primarily out of the North on the 13th. I believe that can bring marsh and other odors to the beach that you don't get when the wind is out of the South.

That may have been the case. ;). Yesterday & today it was wonderful, just a tad chilly. We tried Inlet Beach for a change, we had never been there, and we found several good seashells.
