Beware of FHP parked at Western lake

FHP has been parking a car in the Western lake area almost every morning he has someone pulled over. Really, are they that desperate to give tickets that they pick on locals just trying to get to work? If they really want to catch people speeding over Western Lake, then hang out there around the time school lets out. Yesterday School Bus 11-07 was going at least 45 over the lake.

Where were they when all the tourists were here speeding, passing on double yellow, unlicensed golf carts, kids on scooters...

You can never correct a tourist. EVER! They will go somewhere else and Walton county will devolve into anarchy and chaos as the money is literally sucked out of the county.

Just make that section of 30a non motorized until the bridge can be fixed for the bikers and pedestrians. County and state will get so much flack maybe they will get it done quicker. Then hit the speed back up to 45 where it should be.

Oh yea then pass a law to eliminate the golf carts just to make it fun!

Great though unpractical idea. Just saw last week a "local" driving his hot luxury car at what had to be at least 50mph across that bridge while having both of his elbows on top of the steering wheel... while a family with two small children on bicycles were crossing the very narrow shoulder part of the first bridge from Watercolor. What a moron! Wish FHP had been there then!! I agree with your comment about the golf carts also. That should be a much more practical idea.

You can't be ticketed for texting and driving in Florida. Texting and driving is a "secondary law" in Florida meaning an officer can only pull you over and issue a ticket if the officer has witnessed some other violation like running a stop sign, speeding, shooting an unarmed black teen etc. Uh, forget the last one, it appears to be legal.
