Edgewater Beach Stop Work Order

This was written by the president of Shipwatch Mark Walker for the attorney. From what I hear the wall is staying. Do not forget Shipwatch had plans to fill the front of the lake and put in parking on their part of the lake. I think they are just upset Edgewater did their fill first and this may stop Shipwatch from adding parking. Edgewater never planned to ad parking of any kind.

Let's face it, people have chosen sides and this is nitpicking. I seriously doubt that Ms. Harris would do something that would harm any of the properties in the vicinity of Edgewater. And who gives a s**t where a person's legal residence is as long as they aren't running for or hold public office. There are people holding public office who don't live in the places they represent.

I choose Ms. Harris's side. It seems like anybody who has what it takes to call out the local politicians is a target of the political machine.

Those air photo shots appear to have been taken from a "drone" or specialized remote control helicopter.

Did anyone bother to get FAA permits for this? If you think I'm kidding, look it up. Permit for such activity is required.

If someone was hired to do this, that's also another issue with FAA and permits... Check it out, don't take my word on it.

I have not commented on this issue until now because so much of what has been said has been personality instead of issue driven on both sides. When you forget the personalities and look at the issue itself you find some important points.
1. If it is true that you do not need a permit to fill in a lake, then the county has a real problem. Considering that you need a permit to do just about anything regarding building, even on your own property, that would be a huge loophole that needs closing.
2. If you do need a permit and such a permit exists for this project, then is that very good policy? With all the storm water issues in the South End, it would seem that issuing a permit to fill in a natural basin that can collect some of that water is shortsighted at best.
3. If a permit is needed and does not exist, then this matter should be moving towards correction much more quickly than it seems. It would also seem that at least a hefty fine should also follow. Considering that a gentleman in the North End was allegedly booked on a felony last week for moving rocks in a county ditch, that would seem to be a light penalty indeed.
4. If this is a frivolous complaint on the other hand, then hopefully there is some mechanism in place to allow the property owner to recoup their legal fees and damages.
5. I don't know all the facts and await learning them to decide whom is right and whom is wrong.

The problem with recovering damages from the county is sovereign immunity. Government entities are only liable for tort claims up to $200,000.

No, actually you don't need any FAA permits to operate a drone.

In general: I applaud the county for the enforcement of written codes!

Too many projects being rushed thru:
Thank you to the Turtle Watch Program who is enforcing the lighting law/ordinance.
This area; if it continues to grow un-checked, will ruin the entire reason we live hear.
(Just look at Atlanta's unchecked growth/traffic over the last 20 years!)
(Water quality at the beaches this summer)

Be careful what you wish for, we may get it!

Too much growth and not enough infrastructure. Do we really need another sports complex for the nearly arrived young families of the low value/cost D.R. Horton invasion?
(Value 8-10 million dollars of my tax money) (Rough estimate per newspaper)

Now we need to watch Interior Designers, furniture stores and people doing remodels on their own without a "Proper Contractor License. This is happening everyday. My contractor friends are loosing work to un-licensed people saying/doing all aspects of a project without proper training/knowledge or experience: Everyone is trying to do everything.

:lolabove:Just my personal thoughts. Agree or disagree....
