Walking shoes caravan.

Does anybody know about this event?? is just happening right now on 98, why the Walton Sheriff Department didn't set any sign on the road to let the people know about it? and let us prepare to try to use another route? and why they don't do this kind of mess on Saturdays or Sundays? when is not too much traffic it really affect all the hard working people in the area.

Are you talking about the Walk in My Shoes event to draw awareness to child abuse? I don't think they can schedule a 1,500 mile walk across the state so it only happens on Saturday and Sunday.

http://laurenskids.org/...and they have to reach Tallahassee by the 22nd so probably wont have much time off between now and then..

The cause is a very, very good one.

I am disappointed that the event went the way it did, clogging 98 for miles and really not allowing the roadside exposure it should have recieved.

WCSO has never been really good about traffic issues....

Don't let the few minutes we all spent in stand still, take away from the message.

They have been coming thru here for several years. I was fortunate enough to meet them at The Red Bar one time when they took a break for a bite to eat.

It wasn't just a few minutes - for me it was approx 20-25 minutes to go from Mack Bayou to the West end of 30A... I agree that it shouldn't take away from the message and that it's great exposure to be where many people will see the bus, however the problems it caused may turn people off to the the message the walk is sending.
Maybe they need to consider if traffic problems they cause are helping or hurting the charity? And if feedback is given directly to them in a constructive manner hopefully they will take into consideration the timing of their walks each of their walks, or the routes. I like seeing them annually and this year was the first year I encountered traffic back up like this.

Glad to report they had alot better reception/turnout in PC today. Went from a handful of SOWAL H.S. students to over 350 folks joining the walk in Bay County.

Great message I'm sure we all agree needs attention. The timing of them coming through SRB was just not a good time on Friday afternoon just as Butler elementary students/parents are on the road, and then further down 98 and a bit later ECMS is dismissed.

Lack of planning, S.O.P. for Walton county.

It's so horrible that any of you were mildly inconvenienced. #firstworldproblems
