It's so horrible that any of you were mildly inconvenienced. #firstworldproblems

RIGHT!!??!! Can you imagine what 20-25 minutes in the life of a child being abused feels like???? And the 25 minutes you sat in AC in your vehicle while these folks walked all 22 miles of Walton county in the heat, humidity and the oh so lovely, rainy, weather we have had the last few days....

One of the saddest things I have seen on their site is the fact that Walton county is not even mentioned as participating..Okaloosa is on there...Bay is there.... but it seems like the folks in Walton cant even be bothered to participate.... I plan on making it a personal mission that next year those folks are sitting in traffic behind alot more than the few students...

I don't think anyone here doesn't fully support this mission or the message. Perhaps if there had been notice of it anywhere, people would be more inclined to join the walk. I certainly would have. Just didn't know about it.

Maybe next year whoever hears about it first can post on here so that everyone is aware. I would certainly have made arrangements to be available and participate. Sounds like Walton County dropped the ball in making residents aware for the sake of those who wanted to participate as well as those who are unable to participate but need to have the ability to maneuver around traffic at that time. Bless the group who is making this trek in rain, shine, traffic, etc to raise awareness of a very sad situation that exists. Just a few days ago back in St Louis a mother's idiot boyfriend beat her 17 month old daughter to death, and her 3 year old was covered in bruises (luckily he survived and is in foster care at this time). The comment about how 25 minutes feels to a child being abused got to my heart....it is so, so true. Hopefully next year Walton County will publicize this walk better.
