I find this all very interesting, but I think even with a two man race in which Bush wins Ohio, it would have taken a perfect storm of events for Bush to win. Clinton was strong in Arkansas, Missouri, and also pulled in a few southern states. One overlooked state that could have been won by Bush was New Jersey. Back then it leaned Republican, and Clinton barely won it. It's got 15 electors. I still don't see Perot as being an obvious spoiler.
