Flag burning ban!

Cute. But the constitution doesn't directly address flag burning.
Likely because the founders, while brilliant, probably couldn't concieve a non enemy doing such.

Burning a flag is a symbolic free speech action to speak against a government and its policies.
But if they really want to protest the Republican PE and Republican ‘values’ they should burn the Confederate flag instead.

Another clueless post from the Left.

Trump had a different take on flag burning when he visited David Letterman last year

Nothing Don the Con says has any value, credibility, or merit. Every word is a dodge, a lie, or a nonsensical boast and flag burning is a nonsense issue to get the based base riled up before he goes on his victory tour. For you Hillary bashers the ban Hillary advocated was to ban flag burning as a method of intimidation like burning a cross not as a method of free speech or political protest. FYI other countries that had flag burning bans-Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, Chile under Pinochet and Apartheid South Africa.

Not living in the past at all. And I'm certain those middle class Indy Carrier AC employees are feeling quite blessed today.
I'm also certain Hillary wouldn't have done a dam thing to try and keep those jobs from going south.
Trumps not even sworn in yet and he's working for the folks.

For all the winners, there are potential losers. It's definitely an example of government poking its nose into business. Not very Republican if you ask me.

What just happened with Carrier is crazy

To reach the deal, Indiana reportedly offered the heating and air conditioning company $7 million in new tax incentives, more than 4 times the previous inducement. So in that regard, Trump may have helped Carrier get a better deal. And there’s no federal commitment—the money will supposedly come from Indiana, courtesy of Hoosier taxpayers.

Tax breaks also create perverse incentives. Companies, for instance, have learned to play one state off another when angling for the best tax deal they can get for a new plant or facility. When the state of Connecticut wouldn’t lower General Electric’s taxes, it decided to move its headquarters to Boston, where it got a much better deal. Companies could do the same thing at the federal level by threatening to move jobs out of the country, to see what Trump might offer them to stay.

Tax incentives that offset the cost of labor also give companies a stronger incentive to substitute automation and other types of technology for labor, as long as they’re not committed to a minimum number of jobs. That way, employers can benefit from tax breaks while still lowering labor costs by replacing people with machines.

It’s also obvious that Trump can’t negotiate tax incentives one-by-one with every company that’s considering offshoring jobs. Republicans have said for decades that the government shouldn’t be in the business of picking winners and losers, and it should stay out of the way instead of trying to influence corporate decision-making. Trump obviously feels differently. A lot of CEOs should probably start to prepare for an unexpected phone call.

Tell us the size of the tariff Trump imposed on Carrier to force them to stay in the US.
There have to be consequences when they leave,” he said at a rally Wednesday. “You’re going to pay a damn tax when you leave this country.”… “You’re looking at a situation in our country where our jobs are being ripped out of our states … like candy from a baby............... Donald Trump
If a company wants to fire their workers in North Carolina or in this country, move to another country and then try to ship their product back into the United States, we will apply a 35% tax to those................Donald Trump

It would take a "Carrier-sized" deal per week for Trump to save as many jobs as Obama did in the auto bailout according to Paul Krugman's figures.
When CBS's Scott Pelli asked Gov. Mike Pence about using tariffs to level the playing field and make offshoring less attractive, Pence evaded the question. ....... I guess it makes more of a show/splash to "save" 800 jobs using Indiana taxpayer dollars to pay Carrier employee salaries (even salaries of an extra 300(?) who's jobs weren't even slated to go to Mexico.) Such a deal!!! Unless you're an Indiana taxpayer.
