South Walton Business Owner was beaten. Sheriff try to brush it under the rug.

Got the incident report, WCSO furnished it right away upon request. However, that is all they have available at this time, as they say it is still an active investigation.
This provides SOME information, but not all.

This report is only what the dispatcher puts in the notes on the computer.

If a case report was taken, there would be an Incident Report, Supplement Reports, Sworn Witness Statements, photos, etc.

The fact that it is "open" or so we are told, gives some hope WCSO will do a full Investigation that should end up in arrest.

I find it interesting that the male (husband of assailant and ex-leo), actually makes the call to report "a fight", before the shop owner could call to report the battery...

The dispatcher did a great job documenting the voices in the back ground and that along with audio of the call just might be the assailants undoing.

It sure seems that one was the aggressor and even threatened to burn the place down! That's a crime in and of itself...

One thing that concerns me and I've been vocal about it here and elsewhere is the length of time it took for officers to arrive on scene. I'll have to look at that a bit more. It's hard to discpher, so I might be incorrect.

Hopefully justice will be served.
Sorry the local shop owner is have to deal with this.

Thank you for your very informative post. The investigation is still open, and we are hoping that justice will be served. Currently, WCSO is stating it's their word against the victim's word, and we need a witness or more information to corroborate the victim's story.

The assailants are former corrupt cops from Sacramento, CA. Their names are Marguerite and Chris Breck, and there is a plethora of information available online about their past employment history. Because they know and understand the system, this was premeditated and planned very carefully. They also stole the victim's cell phone (which contained incriminating text messages from the assailants), her iPad, the security camera, and an appointment book. Is it possible for WCSO to obtain a search warrant for their residence? The victim has photos of the serial numbers of the stolen items.

If you can provide any additional insight or assistance about how this process works, its greatly appreciated as you seem very knowledgeable. Thank you again for your time and attention.

How the hell does someone beat themselves black and blue requiring stitches and the victim needs a witness to corroborate her story?

Evidence of an assault is just the beginning. The defendant's story/testimony is just part of a case. There is a lot more to it. A witness would be important if there is no solid evidence.

Does the victim have a private Attorney?
I'd start there as this can go civil as well as criminal.

Get the 911 tapes. Victim should request as they have a right to them.

Yes, she does have an attorney, and he is pursuing both. Thank you for suggesting we request the 911 tapes.

It makes no sense! So, she beat herself up enough to need stitches?Plus, she must have pulled her cameras down, disposed of them, inaddition, cell phone, iPad , appointment book, and whatever ,disposed of far enough away that they couldn’t be found? All of this and then back waiting for 911? Not understanding this ‘her word against theirs.’

I am tech stupid. And have never posted anything here. But I did post the photo. It isn’t something I wanted to do. But I feel that it is important to see for yourself what happened to this dear person. This was not a shove fest. I also want to say that I support Michael Adkinson and believe that he is on this. If there is someone shoving under the rug... it is not him. Now if these come after me... I hope you will all follow up. Thank you.
