Northern Ireland has reported no new confirmed cases of coronavirus for the first time since lockdown. The department of health said there were no positive results out of the 995 tests analysed in their laboratories on Friday

Can anybody explain to me how the "antibodies test" is different from the "regular test"? I know the antibodies test is done from a blood sample. I'm assuming the regular test is the swab up the nose. Don't they tell you the same thing: where you have it or have had it? The reason I'm asking is that the "Florida Community Coronavirus Dashboard" is showing 25 more positive cases than Walton County Emergency Services count.

A positive antibody test could mean that you've long since recovered.

But, it could also mean it is still active in you as well, correct?
I believe so. I think that someone with a full blown symptomatic case of COVID-19 would start to produce antibodies. I think the antibody test is of most value to someone who is asymptomatic.

Also want to add, an asymptomatic person with positive antibody test might feel reassured to know that he was able to fight off the virus, but this might be a false sense of security. It might mean simply that he had exposure to a small amount of the virus and it never took hold. He also might think that he is POSSIBLY granted immunity, but this is speculative. If I were to test positive for antibodies, I would stay away from others for at least a month and alsoget a regular COVID-19 test.

Chris Hayes on U.S. COVID-19 response: “The last refuge for comparison…was Europe. And it was a way for making ourselves feel better about how we were dealing with the virus. But now that is clearly gone. Europe has suppressed the virus and we have not.”

We have zero leadership on the natter.

“Problems start from the top, and they have to get solved from the top, and the President’s the leader, and he’s got to get everybody in a room, and he’s got to lead. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t like doing that, that’s not his strength. And that’s why you have this horrible situation going on in Washington. It’s a very, very bad thing and it’s very embarrassing worldwide.”
