COVID19: Opinion and Discussion

As of today, I personally know 4 friends that have tested positive in South Walton. Also 2 acquaintances that have tested positive and 2 family members that have survived it but have permanent side effects... none of them wore masks except for one due to work. I bet most of us will get our chance just by grocery shopping but hopefully we’ll avoid it and take this seriously. Please stay safe

I thought I was pasting a link. This info came from WEAR-TV (ABC) it said our positivity rate was 12%. Of course that figure is destined to change depending on how many weeks back you calculate it. Just for reference, I believe 5% is the benchmark CDC is advising for re-opening business and re-opening schools. We aren’t inundated, but we certainly aren’t “winning” by any way you measure it.

Has anyone found a local facility (or within 60 miles) that can conduct a Covid 19 PCR test and provide results back in 72 hours?

Sorry if this is political but it is important. It is life and death.

In the graph below, can you tell the point where the white house took over reporting away from the CDC?

Not only is our government denying we have a health crisis, they are lying to our face while our friends and family die.
Serious question: is forcing our children back to schools worse than putting them in cages?
Ignoring bounties on servicemen on the other side of the globe is being ignored. Can we afford to allow our children to be marched to their death in our own neighborhoods?

America Is Reopening. But have we flattened the curve?

Above is a perfect example of where things break down and why people shut down and dismiss a point being made. Below is the post revised to a manner in which it would make a person think “hmm” not “oh, one of those”

I removed “serious question” and all that followed. The original point seems valid but it is undermined by going off topic and piling on various controversial subjects. If you want to harangue “the government” (read Trump I’m sure and I don’t really disagree) then start a post doing so. If you want people who don’t already agree with your other points to see your graph and think, agree, and maybe take away something from it, then leave it at that. If you are simply looking for likes, thumbs up, and head nods then proceed as you are. There’s a phrase in the modern vernacular that Fox newsians have for that and I wish it didn’t actually describe many situations so well.

I think I understand your point, but under-reporting cases by the Federal government and pressuring children to go back to school are related.
