I’m not sure if what I heard is true but I had been told that a local beach service company had over a dozen employees test positive lately? I was under the impression that if people were out in the open air, the chances of catching the virus was very minimal?
This is what I saw in front of one beach front condo and it looked the same all the way down the beach as far as I could see in front of each high rise....

And I hope things don’t get to that point. Flood waters also recede, keep in mind. I really am kind of sorry to be the bearer of not horrible news, I know it can be upsetting if things aren’t as crappy as we might wish them to be. I’m close to giving up anyhow, it’s a bit like pissing in the wind.

Things certainly aren’t terrible right now right here, but I think Dawn and most of us want people to be aware that it could get much worse very quickly. We have to keep preaching about wearing the masks. The counties to either side of us are really having hospitalizations at an alarming rate. There are about 5 ICU beds available in all these 3 counties combined. Not a great time to advocate complacency.

I am not advocating complacency, I am advocating against hyperbole and hysteria. You are not overstating the situation otherwise and I am in agreement with you.

Hello, we visit every year. At least twice. We had 4 vacations planned. Canceled a Viking Paris river cruise (Oct. 2020). Don't know if we'll ever be able to do that. Moved our May 2020 Seaside visit to May 2021. We will be at Seaside in August and added October to make up for missing May. Two weeks ago we returned from a Atlantic beach trip with the family. Their friends go every year and so do they. We went to the beach early and left early. Returned in the evening. NEVER ate in a restaurant but got food to go twice. Went to Publix twice and Kroger once. Masks everywhere and not that crowded in the stores even though it was July 4th week (never again). Anyway, we had our first covid test this past Wed. and got the results yesterday - negative. We ride our bikes in our neighborhood and walk and ride our golf carts. We wear masks inside the few places we shop (mostly grocery and Costco). The last time we ate in a restaurant was Friday, March 13th. We live in a neighborhood with local restaurants so we get food to go about twice a week. When we visit 30A in August , we plan to continue what we've been doing here and that other vacation hot spot. Hope everyone stays well. Ellen
