And “ignoring bounties on servicemen”, Where’s that fit on the Covid graph? It’s constructive criticism, take it or leave it. Why make inflammatory statements though, unless constructive dialogue or change aren’t the desired response or one is unaware. Ignorance of ones actions is definitely a valid excuse, until it is pointed out. I pointed it out. Personally, I want to get back to normal and I need this virus and response cleared up, it would be nice if everyone could get on the same page and be constructive and cooperative.
Had encounter with rude Publix employee this morning...just be forewarned that Publix has a few employees who are apparently exempt from mask wearing due to their "medical conditions." Think I was more shocked by the rudeness...I've never experienced that at Publix. Disappointing.

Publix employees have always been very nice to me and my wife. However, Publix is not my grocery store of choice. When the pandemic arrived, they let customers hoard products instead of limiting the amount of TP, sanitizers and other essentials. It took them well over a month to become civilized. They chose profits over kindness and the care of others.
I’m not a fan of WalMart either and never have been. Both Walmart and Publix often are out of stock on their items that are normally in supply. Also, items at Publix are often $2-$3 higher than that of WalMart but the shopping experience is much more acceptable at Publix. I tend to see less meth heads, addicts and people with terminal uniqueness at Publix, however I do see more people dressed like football coaches, psychotic fashion sense ( psychedelic colored clothing ) and 90’s hairstyles, lol!
Maybe it’s the tourist vs my comfort with the locals? IDK?

We don't have any Publix in Louisville, but when we travel, especially now, we look for Publix for restrooms, local beer, and food. Haven't had any problems anywhere, most recently TN, AL, FL, SC, NC. In fact, in SC were just inside the entrance & management wouldn't let a customer in since he wasn't wearing a mask. All employees at all levels have always been very nice. So, I'm surprised at your experience. Ellen
It’s only in the last few weeks and may be specific to morale at South Walton. Tempers and nerves seem to be fraying on all sides, understandably so. The lady in front of me was trying to purchase 2 cans of cream of chicken soup and 2 cans of chicken broth, hardly seemed like a hoarder, but she was disallowed 2 of the cans. They are different products and we have all done casseroles that might require more than 2 cans even for a small family. Situation sucks all around, the poor cashier had to deny the woman and then had to defend her position as well. No one is right and no one is wrong really. The cashier was forced into an uncomfortable position and I totally understand the customers perspective. I would have felt more sympathy for the customer but she alone in my sight did not wear a mask.

Yea its hard to keep up the customer service smile when you have been told your ridiculous for wearing a mask (well my job requires it so..theres that) then the next person is complaining about the ones NOT wearing a mask (well my job says it requires them to have one but they dont stop them if they dont..theres that..) I think the whole "essential worker" (myself included) is over it. We can all see the numbers since the tourists were allowed back in but not much you can do about it. To top it off ..all of the talk about the extra $600 is getting a bit old when most of the essential workers that havent missed a beat are wishing they brought that home every week. And most are over worked because whos gonna take that job making $450. week that gives the "essential worker" some relief when they can sit home and get $600+.....

Publix is a great place to shop. They may have taken time to roll out their safety precautions but they did it well with much thought... I do think they should have required masks early on though. I understand why they didn't want to get into that but it would have been better for their employees and all of us. Publix staff feel like long time friends to me. They have always been so friendly and awesome. I've had situations over the years, on crutches (twice) , or a new mom with an infant in tow, etc...they made my shopping easier and went out of their way to provide any support needed. I will never forget it. And some of the people there are literally part of my life.

I've heard nothing but good things about Walmart during this challenging time as well. I've stopped in once very briefly and everything seemed well organized.

Sure tempers are getting the best of us these days. Let's everyone be kind and safe as possible.

Thankful for our large and small businesses being leaders in our community. It's all we've got going for us in South Walton. From what I've heard from our own people in Walton County who demanded no mask mandate, our Commissioners will be doing nothing to help our community survive. It's up to all of us.

Publix is no longer a pleasure. It's profit over people and to state otherwise is like trying to scale the owners dirt mounds, that's a reference to the Publix heiress and the hundred foot high dirt wall that surrounds her compound of young boys in Dunedin.

I was flat out ignored the other day at the customer service desk and when I complained all I got was a sorry we'll do better next time. I avoid Publix at all costs now, Smallmart or Winn Dixie for me. At least they aren't putting on a pained smiled of enthusiasm and charging you twice as much.

How hard would it be to count people coming and going to limit the number of shoppers in the store at the same time? I guess that wouldn't be a pleasure!!!!

Welcome to the dark side. I've been shopping small mart for a while. When I want some good stuff, I'm starting to favor Fresh Market over Publix.

I’ve also been going to Fresh Market lately since I frequently drop my granddaughter off for dance in the building next door. Nice store.
