Yeah but they weren't forced at gunpoint. I think that's what L.C. was getting at. In a capitalist free-market society, the teachers should be advertising their skills to other markets.

I agree. I know of one teacher that went to work at Publix in the produce section (he loved gardening and growing stuff anyway) and he said it is the happiest he has been in years. He said he hated the way curriculums were going and the stress to "teach to the test" was getting to him. Said his benefits/pay would be up to where he was within 2 years. He has no intention of going back,COVID or not.

Forced was my wording not hers so that is on me. She is very ill at the moment so I won’t bother her right now. Being both she and her husband rely on their incomes as teachers in a rural area I’m not sure either had the option to say “I’m not working so fuk you pay me anyway.” Remote learning would have been the right choice for the school board. Not a lot of other options in small town America. It’s easy for another to say “just change careers.”

If it helps, the GOP is trying to pass limits on liability so they won't have any avenue of recourse.

My niece is actually a teacher of teachers a person who trains teachers. Her husband is the basketball coach and was recently asked to also take over the girls program. They are both in their early fifties and love what they are doing. Not sure why some believe the answer is for teachers to just quit.

We are approaching 200,000 deaths with over 6,000,000 sick in eight months. Why are you not emotional? Why do you continue to support a man who lies to you multiple times a day everyday? Soaring national debt, unemployment, low international respect, high food insecurity, his disrespect for our military, veterans, POWs, minorities, blackmailing allies, destruction of the post office. When is enough enough for you?
