Notice that people are parking more and more on the shoulders? Golf carts are making it worse by taking up parking everywhere.

I think it is time Walton County reclaim all of our easement shoulders and make them legit parking by bricking or paving. Or better yet, pervious oyster shell or grass.

BCC proposed in today's Board meeting to hire (2) certified parking specialists to address this problem. There was also a lot of public comments about eliminating all parking on public right-of-ways. But this still may lead to....."I have to park somewhere". Tourists may be willing to pay a parking fine to park close to the beach. If you can't walk or ride your bike to the beach, then you have too much stuff!

The meter maid suggestion was prescient.

I'd rather spend our money on clearing shoulders and adding pervious parking. And saving millions on buying expensive lots from crooks like Odom.
