No envy here just trying to put those psych classes to work
There are no negatives and I don't care about you on any level
No one said anything about financial planning I was talking about drive
There's nothing to get but your mindset tells me everything I need to know
GYBAT
And another thing, CHA-CHING!

Enjoy it, you are welcome
Sorry you had to walk the line for the better part of your life to get there
Most people have to walk the line but never get there.

I'll put my skills as a builder up against anyone on the planet

Name me 1 builder within 100 miles of here that has never had an illegal on site

Lets hear the spin peewee
Sounds like you are finally admitting the reality of the republican party. They hire illegals and then complain that it's the governments fault. Listen if you are honestly skilled then you would train college graduates and high school dropouts to work for you. Train them and then pay them a living wage. Oh but then you would have to pay employee and employer taxes. You are not honest. Your words about American History have no conscience. You think you are smarter than you are and that makes you a very dangerous person. Not listening to your conscience makes you a threat to anyone outside your circle of alternative realities. What you are doing with your words is worse than spinning. You are hurting people. How many people do you believe you infected with Covid, how many people have you tried to make feel like a loser and how many people do you just completely dismiss all together. The honest truth is that if you do not find a conscience soon you will lose any hope of finding human purpose. You said that you just turned 50 and began to self judge yourself. Trust me you have made mistakes just like all humans do. It is time for you to grow up and learn from those mistakes. Trust me again when I say that the longer you wait to either find a conscience or trust the one you have the harder it will be to learn and grow from your mistakes. By the way calling people names is childish...

Nope, what I did was rewarding and satisfying much of the time. Now I bask in the afterglow of of the solid foundation I've built for myself and am free to pursue whatever captures my fancy for an additional 8 hours each day. One of the greatest ballplayers of all time, Ty Cobb, didn't miss the game at all once he had retired. Too bad you don't have that kind of legacy to look back on, because I know it means so much to you.
I retired after 23 years in the health care profession after 5 years of college. I loved what I did and helped thousands of people. I only retired because of how big insurance began to call the shots literally. During those 23 years my eyes began to open regarding corporate goals of profit over people. I started a side business and worked two jobs until I retired from healthcare and opened a 2nd business location in this area. I am 66 yo and still working because I want to and I like what I do. I did not miss my professional job as much as I thought I would but it was hard to say bye to the people I worked with and my customers/patients. I do not regret anything except working too much maybe. I love this from Maya Angelou:

People will forget what you did
People will forget what you said
but people will never forget
how you made them feel

I'm a builder. I'm about half retired. I built a really great Treehouse that my grandchildren, and everybody on my street, seems to love. I'm not sure if I'm alpha, beta, gamma, or delta. Life is good.

Got it, government job living off the taxpayer
Are you honestly stating you know the thoughts of Ty Cobb
As to the last comment, they told you when you got to pro ball that if you gave it your all and came up short you would be at peace with the game and they were 100% right
I wouldn't trade my life for anything especially suckling on the teat
Didn’t the government teat pay your employees?

Let the online boys keep the alpha/beta male claims they crave and need, which originated from hierarchy of animals in the wild. It is somewhat psychologically interesting. Especially when these same "alpha" mentalities embrace their cult leaders as their alpha heros (not knowing they are then relegated to betas). I equate these same so-called alpha males as keyboard warrior conspiracist mansplainers living in mom's basement. Their idols (trump, Tucker and ilk) are the most bizarre versions of alpha males ever.

Claiming alpha status is not unlike saying "I have a very big brain... I'm a stable genius, I have big hands...

Person, woman, man, camera, TV."

Interesting piece...

".. Supposed human alpha male behaviour also often doesn’t match alpha male behaviour in other species. Many non-human alpha males also have a corresponding alpha female who exerts similar levels of dominance and control, whereas human alpha males invariably have a “less respectful” attitude towards women, shall we say. Also, the fact that many communities of men (particularly online) are seemingly convinced that they can all be alpha males is a contradiction in terms; there should only be one alpha male per community, that’s sort of the whole point. The rest should try and depose him as and when the opportunity presents itself, but until then they are, at best, “beta males”, a term often used as an insult by members of said community with no sense of irony.

It’s as if the idea of being an alpha male is very reassuring to those who lack confidence and are scared by the wider world and people in it, so want to turn the tables.

This may be key. Supposed alpha males may always get their way not because of to some evolved tendency in humans to respect and obey men who display a specific set of characteristics, as if people were video games that respond to certain cheat codes, but simply because they’re scary. If a large, shouty man starts bellowing in your face, that’s very unsettling, so people may do what he says to stop him from becoming violent, or just to make him go away. Said man would obviously perceive this as evidence for his own superiority... "
