101 yrs old and still partying

New posts
Happy Birthday Grandpa. What sweet face he has. Give him a big hug and kiss for me Mangy!!!

Thanks y'all. I would love for Gramps to see Sowal but he has never been on an airplane. if he did go anywhere, it would have been the West. He has always relished the simple things in life and his happiness is derived from just being around family. He does get a kick out of seeing pictures of y'all, especially when everyone is dressed up on the beach having funn. He has lived waterside for over 50 years and it reminds him of the good times at the boat house, as well as the parties they used to have on the beach. He thinks we are all nuts, and he doesn't like it, he loves it. I will forward the hugs.
Then he will blush and giggle.

Just wanted to let those of you who enjoyed seeing pictures and stories of my Grandfather know that he passed away this morning. He would have been 103 on Halloween.

Up until a week ago, he was still living on his own, going shopping with his brother on Arthur Avenue in the City, making fresh apple sauce in the am for breakfast and most of his own meals. He fell, was brought to the hospital. He had a low white blood cell count now for about a year and was receiving transfusions, however, they stopped working.

We are relieved that he did not suffer, got to spend as much time with him as we did, but he will be sorely missed.

oh mangy. I'm thinking of all of you today!!! Such sadness to lose someone like Grandpa who has been there for all of your days. What a wonderful and long life he lived. Sounds like we could use some lessons from Grandpa!
